Creative Snacks & Plant-Based Meals That Even Meat-Eaters Crave

Lily Chen, Plant-Forward Specialist – Creative Snacks & Plant-Based Meals That Even Meat-Eaters Crave + Making plants the star.

About Me:

Meet Lily Chen

Lily's love for cooking started in her family's kitchen, where her Chinese-American mom and Vietnamese-American dad created fusion meals that didn't follow any rules—just flavor. Growing up surrounded by fresh vegetables, bold spices, and the belief that every meal should be colorful, Lily developed an intuitive understanding of how to make plants taste incredible. When she went vegetarian in college, she didn't miss meat—she just got more creative.

At Go Kitchen Zone, Lily is the plant-forward specialist and snack enthusiast. But she's not here to convert anyone—she's here to show that vegetables can be the star of the plate, that snacks can be satisfying and nutritious, and that "healthy" food doesn't have to mean sacrificing flavor or fun. Her recipes are designed for flexitarians, curious omnivores, and anyone who wants to eat more plants without feeling like they're missing out.

Her Cooking Philosophy

Background & Expertise

Lily learned to cook from watching her parents improvise in the kitchen, and that spontaneous, intuitive approach defines her style. She's great at taking whatever vegetables are in season, whatever's on sale, or whatever's about to go bad—and turning it into something delicious. Her specialty is snack boards, veggie-forward bowls, and plant-based proteins that actually taste good (she's a tofu whisperer). She's also the team expert on food photography, making every dish look as good as it tastes.

Outside the kitchen, Lily is finishing her degree in environmental science, tending to her collection of succulents (she names them all), and volunteering at a community garden. She believes food is personal, joyful, and powerful—what we eat connects us to our health, our communities, and the planet.
