Ingredients:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef (90/10)
  • 1 lb fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar

Instructions:

  1. Heat avocado oil in a large skillet over medium high heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the ground beef to the pan, breaking it into large chunks with a spatula.
  3. Let the meat sit undisturbed for 2-3 minutes until a deep brown crust forms on the bottom.
  4. Toss in the 3 cloves minced garlic and 1 tablespoon grated ginger. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Throw in the 1 lb fresh broccoli florets and pour in the whisked sauce.
  6. Cover the pan with a lid for 2-3 minutes until the broccoli is bright green and fork tender.
  7. Remove the lid and stir constantly for 1 minute until the sauce thickens into a velvety glaze.
  8. Ensure the beef is fully cooked through and the sauce is bubbling and translucent.
