Ingredients:
- 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 0.5 tsp sea salt
- 0.75 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 0.75 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 0.5 cup granulated white sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl to ensure even distribution of leavening agents.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with light brown sugar and granulated white sugar on medium-high speed until pale and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, beating until fully incorporated.
- Turn the mixer to the lowest setting and gradually add the flour mixture. Mix only until a few streaks of flour remain.
- Use a silicone spatula to fold in the chocolate chips by hand.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart. Optional: chill dough balls for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9–11 minutes. Remove when edges are golden but centers look soft.
