Ingredients:
- 4 (6 oz / 170g) tilapia fillets, thawed and patted dry
- 2 tbsp (28g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp (15ml) extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 tsp (3g) garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp (3g) paprika
- 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
- 1/4 tsp (1g) black pepper
- 1 lemon, sliced into thin rounds
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a heavy-duty rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Use paper towels to firmly press all moisture out of the tilapia fillets to ensure they crisp rather than steam.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Place the fillets on the prepared baking sheet and brush the butter mixture evenly over the top of each fillet.
- Top each fillet with a single lemon slice, pressing it slightly into the seasoning mixture.
- Slide the tray into the center rack and bake for 12–15 minutes.
- Remove the fillets from the oven when the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).
- Let the fish rest for 2 minutes to allow carry-over cooking to reach the safe internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
