Ingredients:
- 1 lb bulk pork sausage (hot or mild)
- 2 cups baking mix (such as Bisquick)
- 1 lb sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 cup whole milk (optional)
- 1/2 tsp dried parsley
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- Allow the sausage and shredded cheese to sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes to temper for easier mixing.
- In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, combine the sausage, baking mix, cheese, and garlic powder.
- Mix on low speed or by hand until a cohesive dough forms. If the mixture remains crumbly or sandy, add milk one tablespoon at a time until the dough holds together.
- Using a 1-tablespoon cookie scoop, portion the dough and roll between your palms into 1-inch balls.
- Place balls 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F and the tops are a golden-tan hue. Garnish with dried parsley before serving.
