Ingredients:

  • 4 (6 oz / 170 g) tilapia fillets, thawed
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) avocado oil
  • 1 tsp (5 g) smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp (5 g) garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp (3 g) onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp (3 g) kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp (1 g) black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp (1 g) cayenne pepper

Instructions:

  1. Use paper towels to pat every tilapia fillet bone-dry to prevent steaming and ensure a crispy texture.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Brush each fillet lightly with avocado oil, then press the spice rub firmly into the flesh.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place fillets in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they do not touch.
  5. Air fry for 8–12 minutes, gently flipping the fillets at the 5-minute mark.
  6. Remove the fish when the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) and let rest for 2 minutes before serving.
