Ingredients:
- 2 lbs chicken wings, flats and drumettes separated
- 1 tbsp aluminum-free baking powder
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup smoky BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions:
- Pat the chicken wings extremely dry with paper towels to ensure all surface moisture is removed.
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the wings with baking powder, salt, smoked paprika, and black pepper until every wing is lightly and evenly coated.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer on a stainless steel wire cooling rack set over a large rimmed baking sheet.
- Place the baking sheet into a cold oven and turn the heat to 425°F (220°C). Bake for approximately 45 minutes until the skin is golden brown and crispy.
- While the wings bake, combine the BBQ sauce, honey, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan.
- Simmer the glaze over medium-low heat for 5-10 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and the sauce has thickened into a velvety reduction.
- Remove the wings from the oven and immediately toss them in a large bowl with the warm honey garlic BBQ glaze until fully coated.
